The high card breaks ties if several people have a hand with the same rank. For example, a high pair wins if both players have four cards of the same rank. This is not as common as it sounds.<\/p>\n
A pot is a collection of bets made by all players during a single deal. Each player must place a number of chips in the pot equal to the total contribution of players before him.<\/p>\n
