There are several different types of poker. Five-card draw poker is the most common. In this variation, players must first put an ante into the pot before seeing their cards. The cards are then revealed to the other players. The best five-card hand wins the pot. However, a player may only win the pot he contributed to.
In some variations, blind bets are required. These can replace or add to the ante. The blind bet requirement is rotated around the table every round. In general, players take turns making blind bets. To make a call, a player must bet the same amount of chips as the blind bet.
The game of poker has many variations, but the basic rules are the same for all types. The main differences are the amount of money players bet, the number of cards in play, and the betting structure. In most cases, the game requires at least two players, but the number of players can range from two to as many as eight.
